In the 1939 register, at The Cemetery, Exning, were his father William T. WILSON [20-7-1884] cemetery custodian; his mother Rosa [21-1-1889; brothers Reginald T [31-10-1919] warehouseman and Albert E [12-10-1921] van driver. There is one closed record. 4th Infantry Brigade were tasked with destroying the Japanese to the south at GPT Ridge and in the Aradura region, which they accomplished
on 4th May Russell was originally buried in Norfolk Hill cemetery and then re-interred in Kohima on 29th August 1944. The location of Norfolk Hill cemetery has not been found.. Presumably named as a result of the activities of the Royal Norfolk Regiment in that area. |
